One of our clients recently had a major house fire—caused by a rechargeable battery (like the ones used in EGO tools) that was stored indoors. Thankfully no one was hurt, but the damage was extensive and life-disrupting.
Here’s what you need to know:
Don’t store rechargeable batteries in your house
Keep them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area—garage or shed is best
Unplug them once they’re fully charged
Check them regularly for swelling or damage
These batteries are powerful—but they can be dangerous if not stored properly.
